Hooker Falls is a wide, 15-foot waterfall in DuPont State Recreational Forest. It is one of four waterfalls on the Little River. You can visit two others on a 3-mile hike.
This is an extremely popular trail in the park so be prepared for crowds and arrive early or start late to get a parking spot.
Hooker Falls Trail
From the Hooker Falls access area parking lot, take the right fork and follow signs for Hooker Falls Road. The gravel trail wanders about a quarter mile from the lot to the waterfall base. It is downhill to the falls, meaning you will have to climb the hill on your way back. You will pass a cemetery on your left as you head down.
Hooker Falls
This beautiful waterfall gently pours over the wide edge of the river. Here the current is not too strong, so visitors are able to venture into the pool and swim in good weather.
The shoreline is marked with large boulders that people can sit on to enjoy the waterfall and some sunshine or take a rest.
To visit two other Little River waterfalls, Triple Falls and High Falls, head back and take the other fork in the trail from the parking lot.
We all need a little time away right now and get back to nature. Three falls in a 3-mile hike? You can’t beat that!
Yes! This is a perfect spot to get away 🙂
