Triple Falls is a spectacular three-tiered 120-foot waterfall in DuPont State Recreational Forest. It is one of four waterfalls on the Little River. You can visit two others on a 3-mile hike.

This is an extremely popular trail in the park so be prepared for crowds and arrive early or start late to get a parking spot.

Triple Falls Trail

From the Hooker Falls access area parking lot, take the left fork and follow signs for Triple Falls.

From the parking lot it is about half a mile to Triple Falls. You will cross a wood and steel bridge over Little River. The dirt trail is uphill most of the way. I would consider it a moderate, steady climb.

Triple Falls

The Triple Falls overlook is just along the left of the trail, identified only by a wooden post-and-rail fence. From here you can see all three levels of the waterfall.

If you continue on the path, you will pass a couple of spur trails before hitting a wooden staircase which will take you down closer to the waterfall. It is a long staircase but there are a few benches incorporated into the landings.

Wooden staircase down to Triple Falls

The stairs take you to a viewing area on a flat rock at the base of the second falls. From here you get a rare view of the waterfall from the middle. It is a big area and roped off for safety.

Take a left at the top of the stairs to resume the trail to High Falls or return to the parking lot to visit Hooker Falls.
