Reedy Branch Falls, also known as Burson’s Falls, is an easily accessible waterfall off U.S. Route 76. This 30-foot hidden gem is a short, easy quarter-mile hike through Sumter National Forest.

There is no sign or specific trailhead. Look for a small, gravel parking lot along a stacked stone wall. At the end of the parking area are two stone pillars connected by a metal gate. The hike starts by walking through the entryways created between the corners and the pillars.

Follow the trail down the logging road. Just before you hit the creek, turn left. From here, you can start to see the waterfall in the distance through the trees. Then, cross a wooden bridge over Reedy Branch. From the bridge, it is a very quick walk to the base of the falls.

Reedy Branch Falls is gorgeous! It is arguably one of my favorite falls in the area and we had it all to ourselves.

There are tons of large rocks to rest on, soak up the sun, and forest bathe. It is easy, and relatively safe, to get close to the waterfall.

If you look at it from the right angle, the falls look like the number 6.

Check out Reedy Branch Falls if you are in the area, especially if you are with children or non-hikers since it is such an easy trail.
