Twin Falls, also called Reedy Cove Falls, Eastatoe Falls, or Rock Falls, is a set of two waterfalls on Reedy Cove Creek in upper South Carolina. Both are 75-foot waterfalls – the left drops straight down and the right is a multi-tier cascade along the granite cliff face. If water levels are high you may be lucky enough to catch a third, smaller waterfall like we did.

Drive about 12 miles north on U.S. 178 from Pickens, South Carolina. Turn left on Cleo Chapman Highway (S-39-100). After 2 miles, you’ll reach a T-intersection. Turn right on Eastatoe Community Road (S-39-92). Drive 1 mile until you reach Waterfalls Road – turn right. Waterfalls road is a narrow gravel road. Continue until you reach the parking area at the end, which can fit at least 8 cars.

From the parking lot, walk around the gate onto the old logging road. The 1/4-mile hike is easy and takes only about 15 minutes. It is a narrow trail at some points with a steep edge and roots to navigate. There are a few spur trails to your right down to the creek for you to explore.

At the end of the trail is a ramp up to a nice observation deck. The deck is covered and has benches for relaxing.

Twin Falls

From the observation deck you have excellent views of the falls. The cascades join again at the base to flow downstream surrounded by a beautiful landscape of trees.

It is possible to get closer to the falls but you’ll have to venture off the trail. Be careful because it was very slippery! From the base you get a real appreciation of the sheer size of the waterfalls.

The below photo was taken from the observation deck – you can see a tiny glimpse of me in bottom left corner to give an idea of the magnitude of these falls.

Waterwheel

Along the path there is an old waterwheel behind a small fence. It has a small sign with “In Loving Memory of Buck Hinkle” written on it. He was a nearby resident.

For a different perspective, there is a separate 1.2-mile trail to the top of Reedy Cove Falls available off Cleo Chapman Highway. This has its own small parking lot.

I loved these waterfalls and thankfully we had them to ourselves for a little while.
