Merry Falls is a roadside waterfall just outside DuPont State Recreational Forest. The main split falls is a 12-foot drop followed by another 20 feet of cascades.

From DuPont Road/Staton Road, turn right on Cascade Lake Road which turns to gravel. Merry Falls is about 2 miles down the road on the left. There is no sign or turnout for the waterfall. You can park on the side of the road, but I parked in a turnout 450 feet before the waterfall (on the left) and walked down the road.

Merry Falls is on a fork of Laurel Creek, which follows the road until it meets Cascade Lake and the Little River. You can see the upper falls from the road.

A few steps down from the road, there is a small area to view the main falls. To see the full waterfall, you will need to make your way down the bank. The rough trail is short but very steep. There is nothing to brace your leg against or hold onto except a few tree roots.

If the water levels are down, you can walk out onto rocks in the creek to see the main falls and the lower cascades together.

As a lesser-known waterfall, Merry Falls is a quiet, out of the way spot and perfect for forest bathing (shinrin-yoku).

After enjoying this beautiful waterfall, be sure to visit nearby DuPont State Forest waterfalls High Falls, Hooker Falls, and Triple Falls.
