Connestee Falls and Batson Creek Falls are a pair of converging waterfalls near Brevard, NC. Connestee Falls is an 85-foot waterfall on Carson Creek. Baston Creek Falls is a 20-foot cascade on Batson Creek.

The merged creeks go through an area known as the “Silver Slip.” You cannot see the Silver Slip from the overlook, but you can see where the two creeks join.

Connestee Falls and Batson Creek Falls

Connestee Falls Park is located off U.S. Highway 276. Drive past the Connestee Falls residential community, which is not open to the public. The county park is open year-round and is free to visitors. There is a paved parking lot with space for about 15 cars.

The waterfalls are a short distance from the parking lot. The universally accessible boardwalk and overlook start at the rear of the parking lot.

Boardwalk to overlook

The boardwalk is built along Carson Creek and visitors get lovely views as they take the short walk to the overlook.

Batson Creek Falls

Once you reach the overlook, the waterfall directly across the gorge from you is Batson Creek Falls. You will see a viewing platform next to the falls. This is on private property for the residential community and is only available to those residents.

Connestee Falls

The overlook sits on top of Connestee Falls and you need to go to the far left of the platform to see Carson Creek drop over the edge. A gristmill once stood at the top of Connestee Falls.

The Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and the previous landowner worked together to conserve the waterfalls and the land around them. Because these falls are right off a major highway and accessible for everyone, I recommend adding this stop when you are in the area. Just a few of the hundreds of Brevard waterfalls are this easy to visit!
