Moore Cove Falls is a 50-foot free-falling waterfall located a little beyond Looking Glass Falls on U.S. 276. There is a smaller parking pull-off with an information board along the road.

Check out the other waterfalls located on the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway.

Moore Cove Falls Trail

Start at a wooden bridge over the creek then walk up a set of steps. It is a 1.5-mile roundtrip hike that is mostly uphill to the waterfall. The good news is that it is mostly downhill on the way back!

Six small wooden bridges cross over creeks and streams; otherwise, it is a dirt and stone trail.

Moore Cove Falls

Moore Creek has a low-volume of water so it is most impressive after a rainy day. I have visited a couple times and have never seen a strong cascade plunge over the edge. In good weather, you can walk behind the falls.

There is a fenced overlook close by for visitors to view the waterfall. In December, a tiny rainbow could be seen in the waterfall due to the angle of sunlight hitting the water.
